@Sangsoo: Normally that would help, but Zach is Air, and the only weapons I can get him are Air and Physical, both of which the Flame Soul is immune to. Hence: without Sinstrike or something to throw, Zach is unable to kill it. Thus, being Berserked not only makes you lose, but forces you to reload the flash window.
Seriously? Berserk NEVER wears off?? I'm fighting the Flame Soul in Zach's tournament, and it Rage Chord-ed me on the first turn. As I'm immune to fire, neither of us are actually capable of killing the other, and this is really just going to infinite loop until I close the browser tab? What am I supposed to do, just keep starting over in hopes that he doesn't use that move?
@Blackgamer: Dissipation Field blocks all non-spell damage from any creature that doesn't have Momentum under two conditions: 1) You need to have enough total Quanta to compensate for the attack's damage. If you use your last Quanta point blocking an attack, the shield will break but said attack will not go through. If an attack causes more damage than you can afford to block, no points will be spent, the shield will break, then the full attack will carry through. 2) Sanctuary's effect must NOT be active on you. It dictates that your Quanta can't be spent on your opponent's turn, which includes the compensation your shield requires. As such, the shield does nothing.
Some of Kongregate's games grow on you, and it's good that initial ratings on them get replaced by final ratings. Others, like this one, suffer from all the 1 star ratings they get when players take the game's own advice.
Kind of cute, which I think is what you were going for, but for this game to be taken seriously (you know, like if you were to make another or something >_>) you SERIOUSLY need to zoom out the view. There's such a lack of foresight that it becomes entirely a test of luck, which is fine, when you're trying to be cute and not taken seriously.
Dear Flipline. Floating a few coins just out of reach of characters without double jump is not adding replay value to your game, it's only making it tedious and annoying. Also, concerning the bacon-hallway in stage 7: waiting in video games is a punishment on the player for failing a challenge or puzzle. Making the player wait idly does not itself constitute a puzzle. For a game literally built of repainted objects and altered functions straight from RoS, this game is considerably underwhelming... Please just go back to updating RoS.
I once told a vegan that nothing in the universe could ever make me hate bacon... How foolish I was. The horizontal sliding and their tiny hitbox make it just... awful.
Protip: Need some mana real quick (ex: Giant Ninja approaching)? Build a temple and sell it if you have the Adoration skill. The conversion rate of money -> mana is higher the fewer Temples you have, so sell the ones you don't need first.
If you make another game like this, you ought to include alternate missions, similar to what Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for the Gamecube had. After completing each stage, they can be replayed 4 more times each with a different restraint (m2: Use only Temples and Meteor, m3: Use only Crypts and Frenzy, m4: Use only Dens and Cut Out, m5: Use only 1 of each tower, and 1 of each spell. Each alternate mission would then keep track of your rating on it, allowing a total of 75 'Brilliant's to be earned. I've already done all of those missions on each stage in this game, and it's possible to get at least an 'Excellent' on all of the first 13 stages.
Seems kinda pretentious to ask for $50 to join the Nidarian Guard for a year, when that would have expired twice over since the game's last update. If you already plan to sit around uselessly and wait for the entire community to die, doesn't it make sense to drop the price at least? As dead as this game is already, you're asking for more than the cost of a year of Xbox Live AND a brand new game, just to play the full version of a flash game basically by yourself...
Flipline is like that old man who spent his whole life shelling out brilliant works of art, but went senile and is now plastering hand shapes on the walls of a retirement home with ketchup. The only thing that doesn't fit the metaphor, is that his ketchup handprints are still being published and given 3.5/5 stars average.
Why Flipline?? WHY DO YOU DO THIS??? Remnants of Skystone was SO GOOOD! Why do you have to make that statement past-tense????
In case you're still in the business of updating, a separate toggle for sound effects and music would be great, especially for the volume of each. The music's great, but the ping of grabbing coins mangles it.
Nicely done. Although I have to say the perfect run medal is kinda hater as the game randomly generates a few obstacles you can't get around from time to time. It becomes luck based and obnoxious. Otherwise, the challenges are all very reasonable and satisfying.
I may add a flawless leaderboard. stay tuned.
