I don't know what's gotten into people, but three people have told me this week they see potions as cheating... and then wonder why they're struggling.
Ultimately, I gave the game a 3/5. I wanted to give it a 2/5 for trying as hard as it does to get you to buy Pramin, but it's just too cute and interesting a game. However, because it DOES try just a liiiittle too hard to get you to buy Pramin, I couldn't in good conscience give it better than 3/5. If you got three times as many Pramins as you do now for each expenditure level of Kreds (basically reducing their cost to one-third) and all timers were half what they are now, I'd give it a 5/5 hands-down.
A cute game with potential. Some of the resource costs are out of whack, though, and Pramin costs for everything are about three times what they should be. I'd consider buying Pramins if it didn't take nearly as much as it does to get anything done.
If you get the Dartling fixed target ability, make sure the building is active and this is what you do: Make a Dartling Gunner, then click him like you want to upgrade him. In the bottom left, where many towers will give you options like First, Last, Close or Strong, the Dartling will say Mouse and Fixed. Click Fixed, then click where you want him to aim and that's where he'll keep shooting. Good stuff!
Grilled Pineapples makes the pineapple bombs you place explode after 1 second instead of 3 seconds, so you spend less time trying to time your bombs for the bloon speed coz it'll explode almost as soon as it's placed.
That you die from lack of fuel when you have items that can be converted is just poor design. I'm tired ofbeing three millimeters away from the arm and exploding.
The game suffers the same graphicallag issues every poorly-designed flash game suffers... buttons get locked on until you tap them again, which means you couldbe stuck going left, right, down, up or diagonally until you figure out which key to tap again to turn it off. If I could give it a 0/5 and further drag down it's rating for this drastic shortcoming, I would. 1/5
Skip the large tanks; the weapons you can get for them don't make up for all the damage you take due to your size and slow movement. Stack weapons; two machineguns or seven basic cannons on top of each other can be brutal. Stay small, stay nimble, and when you can get them, get 2-3 pierce cannons stacked, or, even better, two exploding pierce cannons stacked with a pierce cannon to use all 13 GP. On top of a single small bubble, this is a devastating combo.
In some places, it's better to jump over a ramp than to hit it; this is important for races like the Infinity race and the Full Car Park. You may want to skip The Full Car Park and Coaster Booster, especially, until you've maxed all upgrades. Space Caves can be won two ways... by careening through it flipping to hit the floor or ceiling as you hit them, or taking your time to avoid the obstacles. A little practice and you can win either way. Fire Rain can benefit from the occasional jump AND the occasional tap on the brake... BEFORE you see the asteroids. Almost any race is easier with plenty of upgrades, so if you arren't doing well early, come back after a few upgrades. Good luck!
Remember to use the brake to get the best height from some ramps. Also, remember that, in some places, you can careen off the ceiling, llike in the no-gravity race and the peak of two late jumps on the Sun. Jumping as you reach the top edge of some jumps can get you some crazy height. If the goals do not include something like "finish in 6th place or better", then it doesn't matter what place you end at as long as it's not last. If you can't do all goals in one race, do it in two, or three... this includes goals like "finish in 6th place or better".
