So, somewhere around v2.1 or 2.2, tooltips stopped working completely for me. They were still working after the 2.0 update, but have since stopped. I thought it was intentional until I saw your changelog re: tooltips. I usually suspect a change in source getting picked off by NoScript, but if you'd like me to help debug, PM me.
A) It's awesome that you're back and working on this game again. B) I notice mouseover information appears to have just stopped working (Weapons in the list, features in the long list, maybe more). Is that intentional, a bug, or just me?
While the game is a nice minimalist game, it's no good to have the price go up based on number of purchases, but the efficacy not be based on price. That makes it completely possible to make poor early decisions and then practically never be able to finish the game without a full reset. You should tie your prices for the advanced coefficients and exponent to their current value somehow.
Is it intentional for idling to get harder as you progress? The time for money earning jobs goes up, but the reward remains the same, so your $/sec goes down steadily over time.
Yes because your main income should not be the minijobs, you want to earn money through games you develop, so while you progress you earn less through minijobs but more with games :)
Fellow Adblockers: To play this game, you'll need to unblock the kong standards (kongregate.com and konggames.com), plus createjs.com and/or jquery.com (I always do them together), and playfabapi.com. Now you know. I still wish it was standard practice for kong devs to put this in the game description, but I do my part to help...
If you actually want this to be an idle game, you need to create a coins/second mechanic as well. You can't have any gating mechanism that requires manual input, and still call it a successful idle game. (Though part of me does like the idea of the typing, maybe in more of a 'Typing of the Dead' sort of way)
Hi. I think that your using chrome. Do you have the latest version ? Have you tried refreshing the page with ctrl+f5 ? I publish very regular updates so errors might appears when passing from an version to another.
The puzzles are fun, but what I really like is the idea of doing something completely other to build money for the idle component. It's not just gambling or "minigames", since it has more meat than the idle part itself. I'd like to see more expansion on that thematic idea in other games...
This was kind of the idea. It was a first attempt at that type of implementation to allow a more active component to the idle games. I wanted to add something fairly simple, that you could do for a few minutes while the idle part runs. It appears that puzzle side went over fairly well, besides a few problems with improperly parsed puzzles, but the idle side was lacking. The good news is, I'm working on beefing up both sides, but I'm not sure if it will be an update or a future game.
So, it's basically Trimps with a longer idling cycle. "Can't kill that boss? Just let it idle for 3 days and try again... then wait for 3 more days." It started fun, but very quickly got unbalanced.
As an idle game, I'd say the only problem is that the avatar doesn't get back up on his own after he's healed, and has to be clicked. That means I definitely can't leave it running overnight or such...
Well, it's kinda basic crap, but you already knew that. For being a first game, though, you got your design bits right, out of the gate. The UI is readable, it puts the primary game mechanic front and center, and there's no guessing about what does anything. Your first number is a little sluggish (75 for the first boost is a bit high), but it's very simple, and its simplicity is playable, so you're already one step up on a lot of others. It's amazing how many people screw up things like readability with font and color choices, or game mechanic placement, in an attempt to stand out, so good for you, I guess. If you actually want to continue on the path of game development, I suggest you read _Level Up!_ , by Scott Rogers, if you haven't already.
I see what looks like part of game, but nothing actually happens. Is part of your game hosted on another site? (Something that any reasonable person running AdBlock or NoScript wouldn't allow)
The music is from incompetech.com, yeah i though many people don't want music at the start but i will start it with a low volume :)
