Ok, I beat the game with everyone now, and their blurbs are funny. For the people who think there aren't difficulties: Robotron (both models) is easy mode, Average Joe (Jr) is hard mode, and everyone else is normal mode.
I wish there were mouse controls for everyone. I picked robotron because I only wanted to play with the mouse, not because I wanted a busted character, and now that's the only character I can play.
I like playing as robotron because it isn't even remotely fair for my opponents. "How is this fair?" They ask. "He can fly!" "Too bad!" I answer, as I spike another lob right in front of them and they spike it into the net.
Giving 1 start because buttons that are supposed to be clicked reset the level if you click them too much, and buttons that are supposed to be held require you to hold them for all 10 seconds. Not fun.
It is a clicks/second limit that keeps resetting the clicking level right? That's really annoying, especially as it doesn't explain why the level keeps resetting.
Fun game! Could use some improvements, like I think screen shake made me go slow enough an enemy could catch me, and it's not clear how big hitboxes are, but I got hit a few times I felt like I was quite far from a bullet. But is one of the few games I played recently that makes me wanna keep coming back.
Thank you so much for your feedback! screenshake is just visually don't worry about the movement, and also I'll be implementing soon a turn-off for the screenshake. would be cool if you pm me the level of mutation you were playing to check it!
Other issues: the fliers are invincible and shoot at you (as in you took Birds are Jerks to a whole higher level), the large glowing guys can't be jumped over because their hitbox is larger than they are, walking sideways into spikes hurts you for no visible reason (although that's pretty standard by now - Sonic didn't do it) - the blue bullets have knockback and go too slowly (I wanna jump when I see one and not run into it on the way down), enemies shoot randomly, level 4 has a checkpoint at the end of the level instead of 2/3 through where you need it right before a hard part. Watching the intro restarts the game, even after beating the game.
Based on the pictures, I thought this would be a metroidvania, but it's just a merciless platformer. The ice physics, large hitboxes in cramped corridors, and swathes of enemies are frustrating to deal with. Also walking into a wall means you can't jump, but can still fall. It would be more fun if controls were tight and corridors were generally larger with fewer enemies/traps, or controls were tight and corridors were artfully hellish like a good hard game.
