Well turtilla, perhaps you should download 'any other browser' because generally it's a good idea to use browsers that don't suck? There's a reason most people don't use internet explorer or opera.

Well, unlike others I find the fact that 'the castle fires back' to add little to the actual game. Initially the idea sounds like it would be interesting, but in practice it appears pretty much pointless, and all it really does is add an essentially completely random chance to lose early. If there was something the player could do in order to have some bearing on their castle's defensive ability (I think something like giving the player certain pieces in order to build their castle themselves, like in the game 'hold your ground' would be a pretty awesome) then maybe the idea would work, but as it stands there is no legitimate purpose for there to be someone firing back, as your only defense is to destroy the other castle as fast as possible to give them less chances, and destroying the castle ASAP is already the goal in countless other games. This is exactly like every other 'siege' game out there, except with annoying random uncontrollable losses sprinkled in.

Heh, suck that doctor who fans. I am doctor who now. Doesn't that mean I'm supposed to have 2 hearts though? Because if so I'll get to chowing down on toaster strudels immediately; if I end up having a heart attack at least I'll always have a backup.

Well ya know what? I hope you fail the class...because that way you'll have to make another game when you take it again! Yes, that was meant to be a compliment. Unfortunately they have yet to create a sarcasm font.

VBCPP, I uh...I get the feeling maybe you're reading into things that aren't there. I know tombstones tend to get people in a philosophical mood, but one can ascribe deep meanings to essentially anything in life if they try hard enough. Seriously, give me a big mac and I'll give you a philosophical rant about taking things in moderation, and how the sum of the parts in life are often far greater than each part alone, and maybe about societal apathy and how many things had to die just to sustain me for a single meal...but that doesn't make the dude in the back slapping together hamburgers freaking plato. Actually I could probably come up with better deep meanings for a big mac since food is pretty deep, but it's a tuesday morning and I just woke up. Everyone knows tuesdays are the least philosophical days of the week.

Oh, and another thing; despite the prices and stats that slaves allegedly have before you buy them, every single time I get one their skills always revert back to base. Now granted, their levels still stick and you can still use their skill points and everything, but it's just another little technical issue.

Honestly, what it looks like here is that there were previous features that got hastily scrapped and never quite fully fixed or rebalanced. For example, when one uses higher level shield bashes the icon indicates that the blocking effect will last for multiple turns. Well, it doesn't. The icon disappears and you stop blocking as soon as your turn rolls around again. The amount of damage done to armor doesn't actually seem to convert on a 1 to 1 ratio, but I'm not sure if that's intended. Another thing, what's up with rows and alleged 'row penalties' or w/e it talks about on the throw skill? Because literally the only effect the rows have that I've been able to discern has been that you can't melee attack from the back row to the other back row. That's it. Otherwise rows seem to have no effect at all. Of course I could be missing something, but as is the case with most of the things I've said, I have no idea what's what since we're provided very few details.

There are a shocking number of tech probs here considering the dev. Also, the descriptions for what certain stats/items do are extremely vague. Speed looks utterly useless as turns go in order no matter what. It might affect who gets first turn, but that's hardly worth investing in. In the case of defense I'm not exactly sure what 'increases your chance to block' means, and just based on the description defense doesn't look useful in beyond blocking in wait for someone to bleed out or shield bashing. I'm seriously hoping, and am pretty sure, it also decreases your chance to get hit, but there's no guarantee because we get little to no actual indication. I'm not 100% sure what charisma does either, and whether it just increases the 'crowd appeal' action or if it has some other function. I'll have to use another comment box here...

Oh, and also on the second run I already have almost 3/4 of the skills. This is probably the shortest games involving rpg elements that I've ever seen, and one of the shortest I've ever seen in general.

Like many people, I escaped on the second run. I don't know about others but for me it kind of kills the enjoyment when the end is that easy to reach. There's a reason that the usual format is you progress, you die, you upgrade, you progress further, you upgrade, you die...because once you reach the end usually there isn't that much of an incentive to go again. Idk, at least that's my opinion.

I am having an outrageously hard time executing special attacks. I literally have to sit there smashing my jump + attack keys for about 20 seconds before I can successfully do so. Needless to say that isn't conducive to fighting. Also, even during the first level when I was picking up coins I was thinking 'hey, coins and stuff? Maybe there will actually be upgrades of some sort!'...but then I remembered it was a nitrome game, so despite the fact that 90% of people would rather have upgrades than points in most situations there are still always, always points. Imo that's why nitrome games never do extremely well; because focusing on a point system stopped being a good idea a long time ago.

Well, again, no enemies have actually made it through but over half of my gems are gone. Wait, how could that have happened? Oh right, a bunch of gems just disappeared while I was busy trying to upgrade and deal with the intricacies of my towers. Do you know why it's so easy for that to happen? Because now coins auto-pickup, but nothing else does, and I used to only catch gems because of coins. This used to be a 4/5. Now with the gem thing it's more like a 2, cause I'm getting sick of losing gems because I dare concentrate on my actual towers and not the mess of crap pouring out of enemies.

The beginning is really frustrating, and it gets way easier as you go on. See, the thing is that once you get further into the game you get things like chain lightning towers or sprinkler towers that are actually capable of doing damage to a wide range of enemies as well as slowing/doing area damage, and you get way more money to work with, all despite the fact that the enemies you're dealing with many of the same enemies, just more of em'. At the start you basically need the absolute exact correct defense composition do enough damage to regen enemies or scaly louts while still killing fast enemies, especially poker faces as they essentially can only be hit by 1 tower type. I don't know if others feel the same, but I just find it extremely frustrating having to constantly restart early levels to tinker with the insanely delicate balance while in later levels I'm usually getting 3 crystal scores on my first try.

This contains some spoilers. Anyways, I had a heck of a time figuring out the server code. Idk if others had as much, but I even had to view the walkthrough multiple times to figure out where the hell the numbers were coming from, especially since even if you get that it involves the worn off buttons, the order is still pretty arbitrary. I have trouble believing most ppl's first thought would be 'Hey, I read a book from left to right then move on to the next line, so this completely unrelated thing must function the same way!'. I think what's more likely is that one may think 'oh, maybe the worn off #s are the answer'. Then they'd probably go 'but that doesn't make sense, because there would be no way to know what order they're in. That must not be it.'. That results in ppl like me taking 20 mins repeatedly clicking every object and entering every 4 digit number in the game cause I hate admitting defeat and turning to a walkthrough. Either way though, I still enjoyed it.

Developer response from Psionic3D

Do you mean the AutoHacker? if so then take the top row for example, it scrolls across a 5 then goes through the middle and comes out a 2, the 'difference' is 3 = input 3, now move down a row for example it scrolls across a 2 and then changes to a -2 the 'difference' is 4, input 4...do this for all 4 numbers then click 'Enter'. IF you mean the server shutdown code it's in the **SPOILER ALERT*** the f r i d g e room on the wall on the right!!

Oh right, and speaking of actually wanting some explanations for spells...I spent a good amount of time building up my base in preparation for a fight. Finally built up enough that I was ready, connected the land masses, and sent my guys to fight. Then I figured I'd provide support, had a bunch of mana, thought "oh, they said that tidal wave spell was pretty strong, why don't I give that a try? Well, seeing as my bases are always constructed on nice, low, flat ground, I click on the tidal wave spell and as I'm sitting there clicking on the enemy base and around it going 'alright, now how does this work, where do I target...' I see on my map everything on my side just disappearing. Ya know maybe you'd want to give us a god damn hint when you make a spell that functions differently from most any other spell rather than just letting us figure it out by letting it wreck us?

I sort of wish it was easier to command my guys to attack certain things. I'm going nuts on these later missions because all the enemies seem to be capable of literally sending guys in single file lines into my base, where as if I just tell my guys to look for a fight, they seriously just scatter everywhere. If I set a point, one of two things happens; My 'leader' absorbs them or w/e (which is weird as hell and kind of defeats the whole purpose), or I tell them to look for a fight when they get near it and maybe a few guys attack the base I want them to, and then the rest just continue attacking any old random thing. What ends up happening then is they'll take out all but a few buildings of a certain army and thus still have to deal with them attacking buildings and all the others as well. When I'm in a level with 3 other teams that leads to me losing as I can't take on 3 teams all at once, even though my guys seem keen on doing so. I have almost no control.
