That was really really fun, though repetetive. I am glad I played this. The music was great, the sounds were perfectly in tune with good audio clues when something is coming. I had a good time all round, and I love the ending. Looks like something I would completely do.
Interesting demo, but I don't know if I am up for buying the full game. Playing it through once seems like good enough for me. I had fun, sure. I just wish unlocking characters were possible for F2P, and that the guy I would buy has all three games of the trilogy on a disc. Might be something to consider, as having all the characters available for an epic journey across several chapters would be legendary. If you do this on Steam after the Greenlighting, I'll purchase then.
Impossible badge is not kidding around. Even starting on Madagascar it's still all about luck in getting every country infected AND killed within 100 days or less. So far I've gotten everyone dead, but Madagascar resists infection leaving them the only place on Earth not wiped out in 96 days. UGH!
Interesting game. I enjoyed the detective aspect of it, particularly with the looking for clues and then reading the explanations that Bela gave about each one. I can see you put quite a bit of thought into this and I appreciate your efforts. :)
You know, when I played this a year ago on this very same computer, the lag wasn't even half this bad. There was slowdown, yes, and it got tedious at times, but it was clearable. This year it's much, much worse. It's almost like every missile, every running human, every enemy unit all stays loaded into memory despite being eliminated. There is no between levels refresh of the module anymore. This game has become broken. I don't know whether to blame the developer (whom I can't see as being at fault as this thing used to work fine), or Adobe for being complete retards who have to update Flash by breaking it a little more with each update. All I know is I am getting sick of this crap. I use Flash for entertainment, not to troubleshoot and comment on the failures of the program and the people who have their stuff broken because of update incompatibilities.
Are all Edgebee games this tedious and slow to progress? Yes, they are designed to be that way to encourage spending real money for small boosts that don't really make progression speed up very much. Allegedly this maintains a fair balance between payers and non-payers, but ultimately it just makes the games very slow and long-term commitments. They go from being games to being jobs you do not get paid for. This is not to say they aren't entertaining, because for quite a while they all are. But inevtiably you reach the point where the fun ends and it becomes a chore, and then you log in just to spin the wheel every day for your random item.
I like Edgebee, so do not view this as angry criticism, but merely critique on the nature of Edgebee games. I still log in each week to play for a couple of hours, but the fun is gone for the most part. There will be no speed ups for crafting items or anything of that nature, and I accept this.
Okay, when it comes to a point where the game starts deleting my upgrades I farmed tedious levels for hours just to destroy invincible shield bloons, and expects me to spend real money to get them back, I am done. This is nonsense and an insult to the Bloons series. You didn't get this popular by making broken games and trying to frustrate us to the point where we'll give you our money just to make it one more level, NinjaKiwi. The point of playing a game is to have fun, but this isn't fun. This is bad, particularly where you're supposed to get diamond trophies somehow when not even super powers can wipe out everything after stage 3.
I am going to assume that the game testers got the benefit of having all the stuff upgraded and unlocked, because even an obsessive-compulsive would let you know your income system is way too slow for the expenses of upgrading and the upgrades themselves are only a marginal improvement over the previous stage.
Mighty warrior, carpenter, humble jack of all trades, good with kids... yep, that's an Unremarkable Citizen right there! Yessiree Bob, that Xaris is a Tier 5 Unremarkable Citizen. Just like real life! lol 5/5 just for that, man. I don't know why I didn't play this sooner - I guess I thought it was some kind of tower defense, a genre on which I am burnt out. This was actually pretty fun for a life development simulation, and the only thing I wished for was more time. Oh well, next time! Next time. :)
Another excellent game by Nerdook. This was fun and less aggravating than most while still being quick and easily put down if need be. I really like the concept and it would do well to have a sequel whenever you get the opportunity. One suggestion I have for it is the option of having a different champion, such as an archer or mage type champion. Another is as others have mentioned - upgrades. They don't have to be game breakers, but could be fun ones that let the players lean towards more defensive or more offensive without making any one particular route overpowered or underpowered - i.e. if you go healer you can't win the game because of a fight specifically meant for zerg rush tactics, or some specific build the creator had in mind.
Anyway, awesome game! 5/5 and thanks! :D
Well, that was fun for about five minutes, then my game became corrupted after hunting foxes. Now every hunt, city, or otherwise enterable place I go will play the jaunty battle music or the relaxing town music, but not leave the map screen. I'm sorry, guys, but I cannot rate a game that I cannot play.
Female clothes are not skimpy enough. Make them more revealing. If I'm going to be standing around waiting for something to do, I want more revealed females to ogle.
I was wrong when I brought up the screen shake. That was just a symptom. The real issue is all the sounds. First Flash has to process them, then the system's soundcard. Channels get overloaded. Turning off the sound made the game run almost perfectly (my vidcard is lame, so I know that was on my end) and when I turned sound back on, it was dropping mouse, keyboard, and the sounds were skippy. Then in the closing sequence I didn't get to watch any of it. It got so bad Flash crashed out completely. Not exactly sure what happened there, but I suspect overload.
It's a fun game, guys, and I really want to keep playing it, but hopefully you can get the issues fixed soon. :)
I'm managing to get through the game by hitting alt+tab every time I lose control of my aiming and keyboard. The biggest issue is the screen shake - if we could turn that off I'm pretty sure we could eliminate 70% of the lag issues. for some reason when the screen shakes for any reason the processor goes nuts trying to calculate every vector and pixel shift which then disconnects the mouse and lags up the keyboard input. Perhaps on a high powered Alienware this wouldn't be a problem, but most of us on Kongregate aren't so blessed. Find a way to turn off or greatly reduce the screen shake and I think you'll have the issue resolved.
Death by mouse input drop is always a horrible way to die. I really have to wonder what causes that. Is it a Radeon HD Mobility card, Firefox, or Flash itself? All things considered, the game is a lot of fun like the last one and I'm going to keep trying to play it. :)
That was pretty fun. Spearmen were pretty weak compared to warriors and mages, but their special ability made up for it pretty well. I am curious if there will ever be a 4th unit, because when I placed everything on one lane it had the option for a 4th placement. But no such unit exists. Perhaps in the sequel?
"Sir, the noblemen are complaining about the education level of their class."
"I don't understand. There's a quartet of libraries nearby every mansion."
"Yes sir. But they say they're all missing the copies of 'Ivanhoe' and until they show up they refuse to get educated."
"What? Those blackguards! BUILD MORE DUNGEONS NOW!!"
Great game, had a lot of fun and I'm glad to see Archers don't get the short end of the stick once you pick up mages and cannons like so many other games have done. I guess my only complaint is that it froze up twice on me while playing. I could still move my cursor and screen, upgrade a tower or two, but the action was stopped. I suspect a null or NaN took effect when the bosses were killed. This happened once on mission... 3, I think it was, and 9... well, the one with the giant trees.
Hopefully the game hang issue can be fixed! I'm giving it 5/5 because I had several hours of fun.
There needs to be a way to cancel a project if the entire team just goes to their desks every day and sleeps instead of going to the tables to do pre-production. Not a game killer, just a bug that I found tonight.
This game was great and I had a lot of fun with it. My only two complaints: 1, it's a minor thing but the game keeps wanting to go back to high quality which is problematic for slower machines. 2, sometimes my workers would get stuck stuffing their face or drinking themselves silly and it caused production to halt completely until the next day (as long as no one else did the same thing). Everything else was excellent. I give you 5 stars and look forward to your next program. :)
All I have to say to the guys that get stuck because of archiving (happened to me on my first game too!) is: Publish or Perish. That's the way of the artist from books to video games in the real world and it was captured well in this game. You can't take your time until you've got steady income.
Thanks for the feedback... and it would be great if we get geenlited :D
