ArmorGames.com - reminding poor people once again they have no business trying to play free games online. Every so often I like to come back to the laptop I bought in 2010 and see how things are on it. Who knew a game with far less graphical capability than Quake 3 would cause it to start overheating and threaten to blue screen?
Flash really needs to be streamlined, not patched for "hacks" every three days. Either that or programmers need to be handicapped for refusing to test their game on older system specs before releasing it; most likely will never happen, though. Once you go 4000+ benchmark with quad-core processor and 16gb DDR3, you never wonder what things are like on older systems. Unless you're just an old guy like me who likes to routinely notice poorly designed games overdrawing resources.
This is probably the most fun version of Warlords I've played. Well done, NotDoppler, well done. I enjoy the fact that all my units add up on their own until I can send a swarm. I'd kind of like it if my mages could do it, but then the computer would be able to do it and that would just be awful. Great game!
Usually I love Nerdook games. This time I only liked it a lot. Nothing terribly wrong with the game, and I gave it 5/5, but just not really my cup of tea. Keep on making new stuff, Nerdook! I'm always eager to try out your latest creation.
Seeing as I suck at Bullet Hell games, I'm not getting the Hard badge, as it is legitimately impossible for me. The game itself was okay. The firing system was alright for a while, but really just gave me carpal tunnel in the end.
As the last badge get of my so-called "Epic Quest", this one was actually mildly enjoyable. As far as Epic Quests go, it was pretty terrible, but at least it's done now. If more of them had been like this game, it might have not been so bad. Thanks, BoMToons. You may have saved the day.
So pretty much the easy way of getting the badge is to jump. Constantly. Do not let go of jump or you fail. While jumping you have a lot more control of your T-Rex despite the wheel's best efforts to break your ability to control him. Basically you can jump in the air, accumulate calories, avoid spikes by moving left or right, and not go flying into them or the lasers as I was prone to doing when I tried to actually jog like a exercising dinosaur.
That was fun for a bit. I'm not terribly interested in playing multiplayer, but I'm sure if that was my cup of tea I'd be all jazzed up. The game mechanics are about the same as the last two SAS Assaults, so for me it was like playing the third in a series. Single-player campaign could have been longer, but it was good to see it had one all the same. Hoping SAS 4 is just as good, preferably better. Only one caveat was the lack of a run or sprint function. The game seemed pretty slow in moving around, and the free camera caused lag even on my "Plays Everything On Ultra" rig.
Looking forward to the next one, gentlemen. 5/5
"Soldiers of the Empire, rejoice! We have achieved victory after many decades of intense warfare with our faceless enemies. A huge round of applause for you all. And, let us take a moment for special recognition for the one sentient who made our victory even possible in the way it happened. Scientist Allen, will you rise? Yes, folks, this is Scientist Allen. He made it his mission in life to aid our efforts by ensuring that we researched multiple technologies repeatedly. In fact, Allen single-handledly destroyed over 8000 laboratories containing vital research data in his quest to ensure we spent decades to achieve a victory that should have taken only a year or two at best. So, Scientist Allen, would you like to say anything before we blow your head off for sabotaging our war efforts?"
"Sabotage? I was helping!"
"Allen, you destroyed engines, weapons, and armor data while our fleets fought over our worlds, killing thousands of our civilians in each conflict. Sabotage."
I spent weeks enjoying this game and pitting myself against other great strategic minds. I got quite a ways, somewhere in the Steel grouping, before I just got tired of it. My biggest problem with the game was not knowing how much damage I was actually doing, and that the armor was almost all garbage. Practically no defense, over half the armor made me weaker to something (particularly the armor with more than 6 defense), and the equipments in general were often more expensive than their value. Still, it was an enjoyable game and I hope another one like it will come out eventually. With less memory leak problems. ;)
