This looks really good but it's far too easy. Everything moves way too slowly and the levels all have far too many nooks and crannies that make it trivial to trap the enemies while marking off 95% of the playing area in a single move. Also, why do I have to keep reaching for the mouse to go to the next level and so on? (Also, also, thanks for separate mutes for the music and sound effects!)
This is fun to play for a while but... the slowmo effects are really annoying and get in the way. And the accelerator key is a waste of time because letting go of it just makes you slower. Sure, you might think you're saving gas but you're not: the trucks have some kind of amazing traction control system that puts the engine on idle if the wheels aren't on the ground. Since that reacts way faster than your finger on the accelerator, you just need to hold it down all the time. Alas, the main gameplay mechanic is that you need to keep playing until you have all the upgrades and then, guess what, you have just enough fuel to get you to the end of the level.
Soooooo sloooooow. Given that the only gameplay mechanic seems to be "Does my card have more power than yours", why do I have to sit through all these tedious animations?
I like this a lot. My only real gripe is that there's no warning that you're about to finish a level, leaving one of the tasks almost, but not quite, done. If the game said this door ends the level, I'd've blown up the last rock *before* I went through it. Also, it would be nice to be able to turn off the music but keep the sound effects. The music is cool but it gets a bit repetitive after a while and I don't want to have to play in silence.
This needs more playtesting. I'm at the stage where I'm scoring 60+ combos and the game's just given me the quest of getting a 6-combo. Seriously? And what's the point of giving me quests to earn a couple of hundred coins? I'm picking up thousands of them per run: 200 is small change.
Why is autofire so broken? Isn't it obvious that, if some weapons have limited ammo, there should be a key to turn autofire on and off during the game? And why are coins and bullets still so similar?
This is fun for a little while but it doesn't quite seem finished. Why no explanation of the upgrades? Why can't I turn the music off and keep the sound effects? What's the point of brakes? Why is it called "turbo" on the upgrade screens but "nitro" in the game? Why don't I have full control of the turbo? (You can turn it on but then it burns for as long as it burns.) Why is there an award for racing for 30mins when it only takes about 20mins to fully upgrade and win everything?
There are two ways to make money in this world: either you say "Give me money and I'll give you stuff you want" or you say "Give me money or I'll keep punching you in the face." You're punching us in the face but you've forgotten that we can just walk away and play some other game. That's a shame because some of the balloon formations in this game are incredibly imaginative and actually rather beautiful.
I find this rather grindy and tedious. Gameplay is slow and I don't think it was properly playtested. The controls for walking and jumping are horribly clunky, making it hard to get up a tunnel that's dug at even 45 degrees. Because it's so hard to walk around, the solar charger is a terrible upgrade. All of this adds up to a game that just isn't fun to play.
