Beautiful graphics, for flash... but it's not very entertaining. The PvP can be unbalanced, leading to missions where one side realizes it can't win and withdraws, causing the other side to get very little experience despite winning. Not to mention the boredom that comes of running the last 5 minutes of a mission with nothing to do but sit on the bunker you're guarding.
The Car Battles could literally be settled in under a second of calculations, followed by a detailed report for those players who give a rats ass about the blow-by-blow. Instead it makes us sit through a minute or more of unexciting animations (especially when we've already seen them a dozen times) to learn the conclusion of fights that are, for the most part, foregone conclusions based on the stats of the cars involved. It's as if they were TRYING to produce a terrible game.
I don't understand... why botch PvP so horribly, then make quests which award huge sums of Andermant for people to participate in this wretched self-torture? One would think they'd want to AVOID emphasizing that particular aspect of the game.
I'm enjoying this, but finding that it moves a tad slowly. Animations are key to have in any game, but perhaps there could be an option to disable them for players who want to get straight to the action? You might even consider skipping the loading of animations if a player enters combat with animations disabled.
Adding to the poor AI, I now find that:
1) Restarting a map on successful completion STILL results in the loss of a credit. Why is there even an option to do such a thing!?
2) Despite apparently being connected, my game only "saved" about half of my progress through a map I just played. The other 15 minutes of play were wasted, and the game does not recognize that I have successfully completed the map.
I'm dropping my initially ambivalent rating to 2/5.
The AI is a somewhat poor... melee fighters constantly get stuck behind ranged soldiers, partly because they are slow to go around and partly because they will not automatically place themselves in the front of a formation. It's irritating having to rearrange my soldiers every time I want to change the direction I'm marching.
Essentially this is a slightly reimagined form of "The Last Stand." The most significant difference I spotted is the fact that there is no aiming, you can only reposition your character to make him fire within the proper row. This makes movement much more important. No points for creativity (what with the basic game concept being ripped off) but it's a fairly fun game.
Very tedious... it lacks a solid storyline which may hold a player's attention in other games of this type, and the "Hunt" system is unforgiving for new players.
The fact that your character will use magic if he has any skill in it at all, even if the attack will pale in comparison to a melee hit, seems to be a poor design choice. I suppose it can be worked around if you leave magic attack at zero, but the player is kind of screwed on their first play-through when they haven't learned this yet (you can't un-learn it). Great improvement in graphics and game-speed from the previous incarnations.
I originally rated this game a 2, for being a complete clone of everything else out there. Then I got their nice message bribing us with free in-game stuff if we rate them highly... rating down-graded to 1.
Thank you sir!
